Sydney Relay for Life 2016

Sydney Relay for Life 2016 Article

06 Mar 2016

On 5 and 6 March, King George Park, Rozelle was a picture of tents, marquees and colourfully dressed groups walking, running and cartwheeling as they joined in with the Sydney Relay for Life 2016 run by the NSW Cancer Council. 50 Wenona students and their parents set up marquees and tents beside the trees, looking across the beautiful water of Iron Cove. The Middle School was well represented with the 'Glowzillas', the 'Wenona Walkers' and the 'Wenona Heroes and Villains' stealing the show. They set up stalls and sold a wonderful array of baked goods, sweets and drinks. By the end of the evening they had raised a combined total of over $8,000! The 'Glowzillas', our fabulous Year 7 team, took out the lap honours with their 15 members walking over 1,200 laps (approximately 150 kilometres)!
