National Young Leaders Day

 National Young Leaders Day

29 Feb 2016

On the 29 February 2016, the four Junior School Prefects attended the National Young Leader’s Day. Around 6,000 students from across the state came to listen to inspirational speeches. Overall, there were 10 people speaking to us about leadership. They ranged from the Police Commissioner of NSW, a Paralympian, a children’s author, an ABCTV 3 host to the owner of Sydney Cat Café. All the speeches were based around this year’s theme, 'Master the little'. They spoke about how they show leadership in their careers. We picked up some great advice. Some examples are that little things add up over time, all leaders need to listen to others and to do good things whether people are watching or not. It was a great opportunity and we learnt a lot from this experience. We would love to go again if we had the chance.
