It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since we held a ground-breaking ceremony for our new STEM Centre and Sporting Facility.

On Friday afternoon, a small group of major donors and Board members attended a special preview of what is affectionately known at Wenona, as Project Archimedes.

Archimedes, one of history’s greatest scientists, is well-known for the quote, “Give me a place to stand on, and I will move the Earth.” Although there is still a way to go before Project Archimedes reaches completion, the group were fascinated to see how much earth has moved over the past 12 months and the progress that has been made in that time.

Mrs Sonia Brennan, Director of Foundation at Wenona, gave a short presentation on the project before the group crossed the inter-campus bridge to the main building site area.

The group had an opportunity to visit the new Science lab on level 6 Miller Street Campus, before heading down level by level, to see work undertaken so far, and to gain a better understanding of what they could expect to see when Project Archimedes is complete.

Mrs Brennan said, “It was exciting for attendees to see our vision for Wenona’s new STEM Centre and Sporting Facility coming to life and to share the challenges and achievements of the building journey to date. We are so grateful for the generosity and support of the Wenona community and moving forward, we look forward to inviting more of our donors and parents to review the progress.”
