24 Jun 2016

Wenona Fellowship recipient and History teacher David Van Tol is travelling from 79AD to the 21st century as part of his professional learning journey through Italy's Vesuvius region.

He will conduct a 'surface enquiry' archaeological survey of the site with the Pompeii Food and Drink Project. While Flashback Journey to Pompeii will take him from the Roman Empire to the modern day in a virtual reality tour of the buried city.

In his blog, David reflects on the purpose of a surface enquiry; why museum guides make good history teachers and the place where History and STEM meet. Stay up to date on his travels and reflections on his blog or follow him on Twitter.
