Women in Defence High Tea

 Women in Defence High Tea

08 Mar 2016

This week, four students from Year 11 had the opportunity to attend a High Tea for Women in Defence at Gunners Barracks.

Sophie Cohen shared the following:

"This day was both inspiring and insightful into the lives of women in the Armed Forces. It reinforced to us that gender stereotypes are breaking down and there are now more opportunities for women in the Defence Force.  Opportunities that will allow women; to utilise their skills, achieve their potential and fulfil their dreams of a career in the Armed Forces.  After listening to the speakers we felt empowered and motivated to continue to pursue what we want to achieve as often these ideals are questioned by others and certainly considered a somewhat different journey to the norm. Overall, it was a fun and interesting day that really helped open our eyes to different opportunities for future careers and if anyone has the opportunity to participate in this event again I would highly recommend attending.”
