Year 7 Camp: Fathers and Daughters
Our Year 7 students have returned from spending four days at Somerset Camp in Colo, NSW. A week packed full of activity—archery, bushwalking, canoeing, low ropes, high ropes and raft building to name a few—the highlight was spending their final night with their dads. As part of the Father Daughter Program the dads arrived in the afternoon, camped overnight and spent a morning of activities with their daughters.
"Without a doubt, the Wenona Year 7 Camp is a valuable part of the year’s curriculum." Said one of the dads, Carl. "In addition to learning new outdoor, teamwork and leadership skills, it was an excellent opportunity for the girls to strengthen existing and create new friendships. The inclusion of fathers for two days and one night was a very special time, without the usual day to day distractions (or creature comforts), to bond with our daughters and also forge new friendships."
