Boarding Life

Community and Connection

For generations, Wenona boarders have formed lifelong friendships and developed independence, flexibility and tolerance in the Boarding House. Home to 48 girls from Years 7 to 12, drawn from across Australia and overseas, the Boarding House sits in the heart of the School in newly refurbished heritage accommodation. Boarders are supported academically, socially and emotionally by staff who know each girl well.
Boarding at Wenona is shaped by the relationships between girls of different ages, backgrounds and cultures. Older Wenonians mentor younger students, and the friendships that form across year groups are one of the defining features of the Boarding House. Closed Weekends at the start of each term set the tone, bringing boarders together through shared activities before the term’s routine takes hold.

Beyond the Classroom

Boarders take part in Wenona’s co-curricular program, from sport and performing arts to service learning and leadership.

Weekend activities make the most of our North Sydney location: harbour walks, city excursions and local adventures are part of the rhythm of boarding life. With public transport, shops and parks close by, boarders enjoy easy access to Sydney in their free time.

Academic Support

The Boarding House connects directly to Wenona’s Library and Evening Study Centre.

During the week, a prep supervisor supports Middle and Upper School boarders with their homework, while specialist teachers in the Evening Study Centre work with Senior College students across all subjects. This structured study environment helps boarders develop strong learning habits.
