Wenona's SRC Champions Ut Prosim
Wenona’s Student Representative Council (SRC) continues to demonstrate the Wenona Motto, Ut Prosim, that I may serve, through its leadership of a range of events to support a variety of charities.
The SRC is an essential part of the Wenona community, working to represent the voices and interests of each year group. Regular SRC meetings allow representatives to collaborate, share perspectives and work together to make positive changes and enhance the overall School experience by contributing towards decisions that affect the student body.
It is made up of representatives from Kindergarten to Year 12, who are selected after being nominated and then making a presentation to their peers at Assembly.
SRC fundraisers thus far this year have included Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, Jeans for Genes Day and Green and Gold Day, raising more than $5,280.
Their next activity aims to raise awareness of Child Protection Week (1 to 7 September), with an ‘Every Conversation Matters’ art competition and gold coin donations for Youth off the Streets. This not-for-profit organisation provides a range of support for young people including crisis accommodation, counselling, employment and cultural support programs.
Wenona proudly encourages all students to lead with courage and strength to make a difference in our community.
