Xanthe of Year 11’s drawing One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest was selected for exhibition and Katerina of Year 10 received the Encouragement Award (Environment and Open Space, Mosman Council) for her sculpture The Heart of the Reef in the local art award.
The youth prize was initiated in 1988 by Ken Done AM and aims at encouraging the creative talents of young people and providing a showcase for their works.
“Both Xanthe and Katerina are very committed to their endeavours in the world of art,” said Head of Visual Arts, Ms Michelle Brennan.
“They have both unfailingly demonstrated exemplary skills and approaches to creating artworks here within the Wenona community and it is so wonderful to see them recognised within the wider community.”
