Overview

Our vision is that Wenonians will be

"women of spirit who are well-educated, independent, self motivated and responsible; who have the confidence and flexibility to achieve personal success; and who see unlimited horizons for themselves".

To achieve this, Wenona aims to:

  • create an environment which sets the highest possible standards, academic, pastoral, social, sporting and cultural
  • attract, develop and retain outstanding educators
  • provide the necessary physical and educational resources to enable Wenonians to compete on equal terms with their peers,
  • be progressive and innovative in education and be recognised as a leader in the field
  • uphold traditional values of tolerance, respect and responsibility so that Wenonians develop a strong sense of service to society
  • nurture a sense of community so that Wenonians value the continuation of personal relationships forged at school

Our vision in practice – in and outside the classroom

At Wenona we recognise that every girl is unique. Wenona's curriculum is designed to challenge girls, while catering for their individual abilities and aspirations.

We value individuality and the development of self-esteem and self-reliance. In all sections of Wenona, girls participate in challenging activities that develop a love of learning, encourage risk-taking and foster confidence and independence.

Our teachers understand how girls learn, and they care about each girl's progress and achievements. Our small classes, close student-teacher interaction both in the classroom and through academic care structures, and the wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities available ensure that each girl has the opportunity to develop her unique talents and abilities, and that her achievements are recognised.
