A strong relationship and open communication between home and school is the basis of the Wenona's partnership with parents. The WPA supports and promotes the interests of the School by bringing parents, students and staff into close cooperation.
The WPA works for the benefit of the School and raises funds to provide additional educational and recreational facilities for students. The WPA also serves important social and educational functions for members.
The WPA welcomes and supports new parents, provides a forum for consultation on significant issues, and promotes Wenona to the wider community. The Association also regularly conducts information sessions on subjects of interest to parents.
In recent years, the WPA has hosted an annual cocktail party for the Wenona community at the beginning of each academic year. Members raise funds through Trivia Nights, Balls, the Wenona Fair and other activities, such as Mothers' and Fathers' Day stalls in the Junior School. Golf and tennis days are popular, as are family-style events with the girls such as parent breakfasts and socials.
The WPA gives every parent the opportunity to develop friendships within the Wenona community and to contribute to the life of the School.
Dates of WPA meetings appear in the Term Calendar and in the Wenona Weekly.
In addition to an Executive, the Association has a network of Class Representatives who help ensure that new parents feel welcome at Wenona. These class representatives organise class social and fundraising activities, and support Wenona's communication with parents.
The WPA stocks some fine quality Wenona-crested products, including umbrellas, mugs, blankets, stationery and many other items.
